Windows on Minnesota-Minneapolis Wedding: Emily + Matt

Emily and Matt got married at the beautiful Mount Olivet church and their reception was at Windows On Minnesota. Emily was such a gorgeous bride and so fun! During the reception the lights went down and the whole party did the table dance from Beetlejuice! Also we stopped at First Avenue for wedding party photos. It was a magical night!

How did you meet and fall in love?

My mother in law introduced us for the first time. I met her at the dental office where I worked. She thought Matt and I would be perfect for each other!  She set up our first date and it was love at first sight!

How did you choose your venue?

It was such a hard deciding on a venue. Ultimately we chose to have our reception at Windows on Minnesota at the top floor of the IDS. When we were looking at the venue we had to go the 50th floor to check it out. My ears were popping by floor 30 but when we got to the top it was truly magical! I loved all of the floor to ceiling windows overlooking our beautiful city! It was exactly what I wanted.

Thoughts leading up to your wedding day?

My thoughts leading up to the wedding were nerves, excitement, joy, pure bliss.

What was your favorite part of the day?

It’s hard to pinpoint a favorite part of the day. I loved every part of the day! It was perfect! But if I had to pick a favorite it was the moment it was when we had our first look at each other before the ceremony began.

What is each of your favorite images from your wedding? What makes it your favorite?

I love all of my images from the wedding. It’s fun being playful with Emmerlee and having some great candid photos. One of my favorite images was just after the ceremony during the recessional. Matt gave everyone the thumbs up!  We did it! You could feel the excitement in the photo.

Is there anything that you would change?

If I could change anything it would be to take the time for more playful photos. I wanted to have fun and enjoy my day my I wish I would’ve taken the time to take more pictures outside the church.

What is your best advice to anyone planning a wedding?

Best advice……. just enjoy and take in every moment.
